In 2015, I met Ms. Kavagiri’s Instagram page that developed charming custom nails for celebrities like Cardi B, Ariana Grande and Bad Rabbit. There are nails with hand-drawn pictures of the anime heroine. The six-inch acrylic packaging is equipped with precious jewelry and shoelaces. These ideas are pasted on asparagus, fries, 3-D mini 3-D mini paper with hair and unclean socks.
These are more than just manicures. They are masterpieces.
So when Dan Saltzstein, replacement editor of the Times mission and partner group, called me in January to ask me about the upcoming collection of crafts and inform me that I had actually moved to the work of an expert in the arts, I had the ideal prospect.
