Farm Aid’s 40th anniversary event is adding more planetary capabilities to its lineup.
Country Music Hall of Fame member elected Kenny Chesney will be held on September 20 at Huntington Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, with a fourth farm aid coming. Farm Aid will honor Chesney’s 2025 concert performance outside his recent residence at the Las Vegas Stadium. Chesney will return to the venue in summer 2026.
New Farm Aid Performers are Country Music Hall of Fame member Wynonna Judd and Grammy Award winner Steve Earle join Chesney. This would mark the ninth appearance of the Count in farm aid; his first performance at the event was in the year it was founded in 1985.
They will join the appearances of previously announced show and/or farm aid committee members Willie Nelson, Neil Young (with Chrome Hearts), John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews (with Tim Reynolds) and Margo Price. In this year’s lineup, Billy Strings, Nathaniel Rateliff and The Night Sweats were also trampled by Turtles, Waxahatchee, Black Pumas’ Eric Burton, Jesse Welles and Madeline Edwards.
This year marks forty years of farm aid advocacy for family farmers. Nelson held his first farm aid concert in Champaign, Illinois on September 22, 1985, and since then, the nonprofit refueling festival has raised more than $80 million to enhance the strong family farm/agricultural system.
“We are pleased to return Kenny Chesney to the farm aid phase this year,” said Jennifer Fahy, co-executive director of Farm Aid, in a statement. “He is one of many artists back to the farm, generously donating travel and performances to raise awareness of family farmers who we all grow food. Kenny’s appearance, along with music legends Wynonna Judd and Steve Earle, will make this memorable yearbook event.”
